Description: The Richmond Behavioral Health Authorities Child and Family Division is seeking a Mental Health Case Manager who will be responsible for the provision of case management services to consumers. These services are provided both in the office and in the community. Services include the assessment of consumer needs via a review of medical, social, educational, psychological evaluation and the creation,implementation, monitoring and revision of individualized service plans. Collaborates and links consumers with other service providers as needed and monitors these services. Ensures that service documentation complies with regulatory, reimbursement and agency requirements. Advocates for consumer preferences and service needs. Interfaces with a wide variety of professionals, programs and agencies to deliver services. The preferred candidate will possess a Masters degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling with one or more years of experience. Consideration will be given to individuals with a Bachelors degree in Social Work, Human Services or Psychology with at least one year of experience.

Knowledge of models of alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention is required.

The preferred candidate will have substantial training and experience in the assessment and treatment of substance use disorders with offender populations, and possess state and/or national certifications in addiction treatment CSAC, CAC, CCJP, or LSATP. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling or related field with advanced education in addictions counseling preferred. Applicants must have a valid Virginia driver’s license and vehicle available for use. This position does work on-site at District 1 Probation and Parole Program and will include three evenings per week until approximately 8:00 p.m.

Description: The Richmond Behavioral Health Authority is seeking an energetic, creative and qualified Substance Abuse Clinician for the HIP unit. The successful candidate must be capable of functioning relatively independently, and will manage a caseload and provide intensive community-based outpatient clinical and case management services, crisis intervention services and supportive counseling. Specific responsibilities include conducting screenings and initial assessments, developing diagnostic impressions upon admission for services, delivering evidence-based skill-building and motivational enhancement groups, and arranging for additional or alternative services where appropriate. The successful candidate will interface with other service providers, collect ongoing evaluation and follow-up data collection, and he/she will meet periodically with the team, the supervisor and the project evaluator to review the project’s progress. The successful applicant will have a strong knowledge base with regard to diagnostic assessment techniques, counseling approaches, and service modalities used for persons with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental illness. The preferred candidate will have some knowledge of community-based public health approaches and experience working with people who have HIV disease or are at high risk for HIV. This position requires a Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling or related field. CSAC certification or eligible and Virginia license or license-eligible preferred. Experience with the criminal justice-involved population preferred. Two years experience in a behavioral health setting required.
