Juvenile Competency Restoration Services

Juvenile Competency Restoration Services are provided to juveniles who have been charged with a delinquency offense and are before a Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court and have been found incompetent by the court and ordered to receive restoration services.  Juvenile Competency Restoration Services are education and training services provided to restore a juvenile to competency to stand trial.  Juvenile Competency Restoration Services are provided wherever the juvenile resides in Richmond.  A trained restoration counselor will provide restoration services in the least restrictive environment authorized by the Court including the juvenile’s home, the home of another family member or caretaker, the school, a juvenile detention center or a jail.  Restoration services are provided during 2 to 3 sessions per week.
