Crisis Services

Crisis services are provided for children and adolescents 17 years and younger.  A preadmission screening is done by a certified preadmission screener at the location of the youth to determine whether the youth meets the criteria for hospitalization.  If so, the youth may be admitted to a local or state psychiatric facility voluntarily or involuntarily.  Should a child be admitted for a psychiatric hospitalization the attending facility is required to contact the Richmond Behavioral Health Authority (CSB) to discuss coordination of discharge plans and make recommendations.  This collaborative planning should continue throughout the time the consumer is hospitalized.
