Mental Health Services For Adults
Support Services
Recovery Support Groups
In addition to receiving Case Management services, consumers may choose to enhance their recovery from both a serious mental illness and a substance abuse disorder by participating in any number of weekly support groups. While the Program’s foundation is built on dual recovery groups, participants are encouraged to develop and achieve personal goals, live a life focused on wellness and independence, achieve mental health stability, and eliminate substance use and dependence.
While not exhaustive, the Program offers:
gender-focused groups
better living/wellness groups
spirituality groups
psycho-education groups
family support group
anger management
This variety enables the Program to meet the needs and desires of individual participants, who may be in any stage of the recovery process. Consumers are encouraged to inquire about groups via their Primary Service Provider. For the current group schedule, please click here.
Mental Health Support Services
Mental Health Support Services (MHSS)are time-limited training and supports that assist consumers with achieving and maintaining community stability through teaching and reinforcement of independent living skills, identifying and using other resources in the community, assistance with medication management, and monitoring of physical health and nutrition.
MHS Services may include:
teaching housekeeping and organizational skills
teaching laundry skills
providing budgeting assistance
educating persons about good hygiene
assisting with grocery shopping and meal planning
finding ways to manage stress
teaching medication management
Services take place in the consumer’s home and in their community. Consumers interested in being assessed for this additional service are encouraged to talk with their Primary Service Provider to discuss eligibility for making a referral.
Psychiatric Rehabilitation Programs
RBHA Adult Mental Health operates psychiatric rehabilitation programs in the community at two different off-site locations, the Marshall Center and the Broad Street Center. Services are intended to enable consumers to form positive social relationships, learn about recovery from mental illness, access community resources, engage in pre-vocational training, and increase self-esteem through a range of successful experiences. Both the Marshall Center and the Broad Street Center provide structured, recovery-based programming in areas of:
primary medical health issues, nutrition, and overall physical health
socialization and interpersonal relationships
pre-vocational training and employment support
crisis intervention services
Both Centers operate five days a week with some programming on weekends, holidays, and evenings.
Interested consumers are encouraged to attend one of the monthly Open House events and should speak with their Primary Service Providers for more information and to discuss eligibility.
